Concepts and Organizers
Concept Teaching and Advanced Organizers
Presentation can be used to teach concepts in two organized ways. The concept analysis model breaks a concept into five parts. The advanced organizer model presents the whole picture first and then explains the parts.
A recap of presentation, the inductive and deductive modes, and the two models this chapter introduces
Five components: name, definition, critical attributes, examples and non-examples, and place in the concept hierarchy
Show the big picture first, isolate facts, concepts, and generalizations, then integrate them back together
