Objective

Create a timeline infographic in Canva presenting key events in the life of Prophet Ibrahim (عليه السلام), with Quranic references for each event.

Instructions

Events to Include

Place these events in chronological order on the timeline:

  1. Born in Babylon (present-day Iraq) - Grew up in a society that worshipped idols.
  2. Questioned idol worship - As a young man, he recognized that idols made of stone could not be gods. Reference: Surah Al-An’am (6:74-79).
  3. Smashed the idols in the temple - He broke all the idols except the largest one, to make his people think. Reference: Surah Al-Anbiya (21:57-67).
  4. Thrown into the fire by Nimrod - King Nimrod ordered him to be burned. Allah commanded the fire: “Be cool and safe for Ibrahim.” Reference: Surah Al-Anbiya (21:68-69).
  5. Migration from Babylon - Left his homeland and people after being rejected.
  6. Left his wife Hajar and son Ismail in the valley of Makkah - Under Allah’s command. This act led to the well of Zamzam appearing. Reference: Surah Ibrahim (14:37).
  7. The dream: commanded to sacrifice his son Ismail - Ibrahim saw in a dream that he was slaughtering his son. He told Ismail, who submitted willingly. Reference: Surah As-Saffat (37:102).
  8. The test passed - a ram was sent - At the moment of sacrifice, Allah called out that Ibrahim had fulfilled the dream and sent a ram in place of Ismail. Reference: Surah As-Saffat (37:103-107). This event is commemorated on Eid ul-Adha.
  9. Building of the Kaaba - Ibrahim and Ismail built the Kaaba in Makkah as a house of worship for Allah. Reference: Surah Al-Baqarah (2:127).
  10. Given the title Khalilullah - Allah named him His close friend. Reference: Surah An-Nisa (4:125).

  • Horizontal or vertical timeline.
  • Each event gets a numbered card with the event title, a brief description, and the Quranic reference.
  • Use symbolic imagery: flames for the fire, a crescent for the dream, the Kaaba outline for the final event.
  • Keep descriptions brief - two or three sentences per event.
