Comparing Formal and Informal Learning

Much of what a person knows was never delivered in a planned lesson. This chapter looks at informal learning through Beckett and Hager (2002), sets it against formal learning using the feature comparison from Colley, Hodkinson and Malcolm, and then asks whether the two are really separate at all or attributes that mix in almost every situation.
