Classroom assessment techniques come in many forms: tests, quizzes, worksheets, portfolios, and more. Each one identifies where a student sits with a concept and tracks that understanding over time. The harder question is what happens after the assessment ends, because a bare number does very little for the student who receives it.
Why a Score Alone Teaches Nothing
A “6 out of 10” written at the top of a page names a result without explaining it. The student learns that four marks were lost but not which ideas were wrong or how to do better next time. Turning that six into a seven or an eight requires the teacher to sit with the student, go through the mistakes, and counsel them, which takes time many crowded classrooms do not have.
A technology-enabled classroom can build this feedback into the system itself. The moment a student answers wrongly, the software says the answer is incorrect, explains why, shows the correct response, then routes the student into more problems of the same type. The mistake becomes the start of practice rather than a dead end.
Built-in feedback also lets the teacher spot and quickly close gaps in understanding, build on what a student does well, and support the weak areas. Naming a strength matters as much as flagging a weakness, so the student knows both where they are solid and where to put extra work.

This is a mastery gate: fix the weakness, confirm the fix, then advance. It works because the practice is targeted at the exact skill that failed, not at the whole lesson again.
The gate protects later learning, because most topics build on the ones before them, and an unfixed gap tends to grow rather than shrink.
Reteach Differently, Not Louder
Reteaching is often necessary, but repeating the same explanation the same way rarely helps. If a student did not absorb a concept the first time it was taught one way, teaching it that same way again is unlikely to land. Real reteaching changes the method.
Many human teachers lack the range of pedagogical techniques to explain a single idea three different ways on the spot. Good software is built for exactly this. If method A did not work, it tries method B, then C, drawing on a stored set of approaches until one connects. That built-in variety gives a stuck student a genuine second chance.
